Up We Go

Gravity is very light here.

I leapt ten feet on my way to breakfast.

And not in anticipation

of that meal,

let me assure you.

But everyone was out and about

and doing much the same.

My bound was a mere hop

compared to some.

It has little to do with physical fitness.

In fact, for a man my age,

I'm a doctor's worst nightmare.

But I can soar as high

as the roof of the hut I live in.

I'm five feet eight,

a little over two hundred

and fifty pounds.

And this planet holds my weight

less accountable

than do some other worlds.

I'd jump for joy

if it weren't so easy.
